Man arrested on suspicion of starting two fires
POLICE were called yesterday evening by a member of the public to reports of Barrow Cricket Club on fire.
Both police and fire crews attended the scene shortly after 5.30pm where forced entry had been made to the score board building.
The fire caused extensive damage to equipment.
Later in the evening, police were called again with reports of a vehicle on fire in St Quintins Avenue, Barrow.
A fire had been ignited in the glove compartment of a LDV van.
Shortly after the fire a 24-year-old male was arrested in Roose Road, Barrow, on suspicion of both offences.
Police would like to thank members of the public for informing them of both these incidents.
