NATIONAL coffee chain Costa Coffee has said "sorry" to customers at one of its Barrow cafes after one highlighted the shoddy state of the sofas.
Twitter user Stephanie Marshall shamed the coffee brand online by posting a picture of the sofa in the Hindpool Retail Park cafe.
She said: "Think we need a new sofa up here in Barrow-in-Furness! There’s only one in the Hindpool Retail Park and it’s not pleasant to sit on anymore! #itsgrimupnorth"
Costa replied and vowed to look into the state of the cafe which "could be due for a refurb".
The chain replied: "This isn't good Stephanie, sorry about this! Does look quite worn. I'll raise this with the Area Manager to look into as this branch maybe in line for a refurb soon."
Barrow has one other Costa, in Dalton Road, while a new drive-thru Costa next to Dominos is nearing completion.
