AN inquest will take place this week into the death of a man who fell from a multi-storey car park after he was accused of being involved in a drugs plot.

At Carlisle Crown Court in July, 15 defendants were jailed for a total of almost 100 years after police seized cocaine, cannabis and methcathinone worth more than £1m which were being transported into Cumbria by drug couriers.

Four Barrow men were among those jailed: Robert Rawlinson, 28, of Earle Street – five years, four months; Kieron Fleming, 23, of Low White Close – six years, eight months; Jordan Graham, 29, Church Street – four years; Stewart Griffiths, 31, Chester Place – three years, three months.

Steven Archer, from Walney, was said to be involved in the drugs ring as a courier.

The 49-year-old died on August 18 last year on the day he was due to appear at the crown court.

He died after falling from the car park above The Forum in Duke Street, Barrow.

An inquest will be held on Thursday at 10am at Barrow Town Hall.
