A BARROW businesswoman has called on the public to help track down the burglars who ransacked her salon.

Genette Keane was devastated to discover her Gwazi hair and nail salon in Rawlinson Street had been broken into in the early hours of February 8.

Police believe entry was gained, sometime between 6pm on February 7 and 9am on February 8 via the back alley between Rawlinson Street and Thwaite Street.

Mrs Keane has since launched her own public appeal, and is offering a cash reward to anyone who helps to identify those responsible.

She described herself as being unable to be in the salon on her own as a result of the break-in.

In a post on Facebook, which has been shared by more than 100 people, Mrs Keane wrote: "As many of you know the Gwazi hair & nail salon was broken into on 7/2/2017 the thieves made off with, with Ghd straighteners, Ghd products, Ghd air hairdryers, Ghd brushes, fudge shampoo, nail varnishes, nail products, fudge products, joico products, hair extensions. Cash, cash tins & keys.

"I have spent years building up the business, I work every hour I can! For some lowlife to think they can just smash their way in & help themselves.

"Not only have they damaged property, stolen stuff but they have also tainted my feeling for the place I love! Currently I can't stand being in the salon, more so when I am alone (so for them making me feel like this in itself, I want them named)

I am offering a cash reward for anyone, who gives us information, knows the person or persons who are responsible. SOMEONE knows something, cash will be rewarded upon a culprit getting charged with it."

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious should ring police on 101, quoting log reference 43 of February 8.
