The Coniston Country Fair is an annual event which is set on the shores of Coniston Water.
The show attracts thousands of visitors each year and boasts a selection of shows for Fell Foxhounds, Terriers, Beagles and Lurchers.
Farming is also represented with shows for Herdwick Sheep and Sheepdogs as well as traditional Cumbrian Walking Sticks.
Show secretary, Steve kennedy, said: "It's a good day out in the country side. There's various shows going on, lots of trade stands, entertainment in the ring - there's falconry and lurcher and terrier racing in the main ring.
"There's also children's sports and a fell race. It should be great day and hopefully the weather should be nice."
The Fell Race takes place from the show field to the top of the Coniston Old Man and back.
A route which would take the normal visitor most of the day to complete but the athletes manage to run the course in under an hour.
There will also be a Tug O' War competition between local young farmers.
The Coniston Country Fair will be held today at Coniston Hall Farm from 11.30am.
Car parking will be signed and cars should follow directions through Coniston Hall Campsite and into the farm yard.
