GENEROUS shoppers at a Barrow supermarket helped boost a maternity appeal with a raft of donations last week.
Fundraisers for the Furness General Hospital's BayB appeal collected £130 in just three hours at Morrison's supermarket.
The money has gone towards the appeal's £250,000 target which will be used to pay for kit and equipment for the area's new £12m maternity unit which is being built at the Dalton Lane site.
Fund co-ordinator Heidi Bowron said: "I’d like to thank everyone who donated to us at Morrisons and to the supermarket itself for giving us permission to hold a collection.
"We weren’t there for that long but it just goes to show that even if you only have a spare 10p or 20p, when loose change is added up it comes to quite a sum."
