IN the week colour television turned 50, new figures reveal all viewers in Barrow and south Cumbria have finally made the switch from black and white sets.
Though colour TV was introduced in 1967, around 8,000 people across the UK still watch shows in black and white - including 10 in Carlisle and five in Whitehaven.
But the LA postcode, which covers Furness and south Cumbria, is one of 70 nationwide which has moved to colour TV licences only in the past 18 months.
