BARROW AFC are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Micky Moore after the Bluebirds crashed out of the F.A. Cup.

Moore's tenure was short lasting only 11 games in charge. He took over after the departure of Paul Cox on an interim basis but was awarded a permanent contract last month.

The seven and a half weeks Moore spent at the helm is quite lengthy compared to others.

Here is our list of some of the shortest managerial appointments:

Brian Clough – Leeds United (44 days, 1974)

The iconic manager's time spent with 'The Damned United' is remembered for the worst reasons. Clough hated the club, the players and the men who ran it.

During his time at Derby County Clough had frequently disparaged Leeds which did not sit well upon his arrival.

His departure was a blessing in disguise however. He went on to manage Nottingham Forrest to European Cup glory not once, but twice.

Paul Hart – QPR (28 days, 2009/10)

An owner all to eager to get rid of managers and training ground bust ups spelled out an early end for Hart. Less than a month after taking over from Jim Magilton he was shown the door by owner Flavio Briatore.

Kevin Cullis & Micky Adams – Swansea (7 & 13 days, 1996 and '97)

A torrid 18 months for fans in South Wales saw their team go through dix managers in 18 months.

Cullis took charge of just two games before he left and Adams departed after money promised to build a squad of his own never materialised.

Martin Ling – Cambridge United (9 days, 2009)

So much can hang on the relationship between manager and owner. Unfortunately for Ling things never sparked between himself and club chairman George Rolls. Just more than a week after being appointed he left citing irreconcilable differences.

Dave Bassett – Crystal Palace (4 days, 1984)

He never actually signed a contract at Selhurst Park but still managed to put in four days work at the training ground before the club was not for him. Swift entry and swift exit.

Leroy Rosenior – Torquay (10 minutes, 2007)

The ominous holder of the shortest managerial reign in England sits with Leroy Rosenior.

He was unfortunately appointed manager of Torquay just as they were being taken over by a consortium. The now owners wanted their own man in, which meant the only way for Rosenior was out. We doubt the ink had even dried on his contract.
