FRIENDS of a Barrow dad whose death has left his five-year-old daughter devastated have launched a fundraising campaign to fulfill one of his last wishes.

Known to his friends as Dicko, Chris Dixon died last month at the age of 32, and his daughter Amelia has spoken of her heartbreak after losing her daddy.

In a poignant tribute the five-year-old said: ""You make me feel happy and loved. You are in the sky and I will blow you kisses. I'm thinking about you right now. I love you daddy to the moon and back a hundred thousand."

Mr Dixon's body was found at the side of the railway lines in Barrow three weeks after he was reported missing.

Police later said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

In the JustGiving page, Gemma Woodburn writes: "One of Chris's plans for the future was to take his little princess to see the princesses at Disneyland.

"This is something that nearly every child dreams of and every parent wants to make their child's dreams come true don't they.

"So, I'm hoping with the help of the lovely people in our little town that we can raise enough money to help send Amelia to Disneyland and fulfill one of Chris's last wishes for his daughter.

"I understand that it's nearly Christmas and money is tight for a lot of people but if you can spare anything we would be eternally grateful. Let's try and give Amelia the best present she could ask for."
