FIREFIGHTERS were called after two malicious fires were started at Salthouse Mills in Barrow.
A member of the public called 999 at around 8.30pm last night after spotting one blaze down at the mills. When the fire crews - two from Ulverston and one from Barrow, arrived, they discovered a second fire had been started.
Firefighters believe the fires had been started maliciously. One of the fires involved a number of tractor tyres and an LPG gas canister.
Last night's callout was the third to a deliberate fire in the area of Salthouse Mills in a week.
A group of youths were seen in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
