CONCERNS were raised over the weekend as three employees from energy company Centrica were taken to Furness General Hospital after reportedly feeling unwell.

The men were taken in at 10am as a precautionary measure after completing work on the Rivers Terminal, Barrow.

Hospital staff placed the workers on oxygen machines as well as conducting numerous tests.

After being given the all clear, the men were later released that afternoon.

A spokesman for Centrica confirmed engineers were sent to check all gas meters but nothing harmful or out of the ordinary was detected.

Centrica is the parent company for British gas.
