A FATHER and son from Barrow who were both accused of threatening the same man entered different pleas in court.
John Robson, 39, of Frederick Street, Barrow and his 20-year-old son Kallam Robson, of Risedale Road, Barrow, both appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday accused of being abusive towards Colin Rigg on May 8.
Robson Sr denied the charge and was granted unconditional bail. He will next appear before the court on December 14.
However, his son admitted using threatening and insulting words towards Mr Rigg in what was noted as a revenge attack.
Robson Jr said: "I do understand it was wrong. I do regret it and I know that that sort of thing is not appropriate."
District Judge Gerald Chalk took into account the defendant's young age and mental health problems as he handed him a prison sentence of 70 days suspended for 12 months.
Robson Jr was also ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work and pay court costs of £85 as well as a victim surcharge of £115.
