RESIDENTS across Cumbria are being asked to share their views on the county's infrastructure.

Cumbria's Chamber of Commerce is asking people people to take part in a short survey which will help shape future decisions about the road, rail and air travel links across the north.

Speaking about the survey, members of the chamber made reference to the county's transport links often being at 'the butt of jokes' refercnging the A590 often being called "the longest cul-de-sac" in the country.

The survey has been launched as a response to the publication of Transport for the North's draft Strategic Transport Plan, which sets out strategies for transforming the North's road, rail and air links over the next 30 years and is in consultation until April.

The 96 page document identifies key factors for improvement, sets out how the proposed changes will happen and how the programme will be delivered.
