BRAND new housing set for Barrow later this year has been branded 'excellent' as interest in the upcoming properties builds.

The project, headed by Barrow contracting firm, LECK Construction Ltd., will see the construction of brand new, energy-efficient homes.

The site at 200 Abbey Road, in Barrow, which will be called Arlington Court on completion, is the former site of Arlington House.

The development is scheduled to see 11 new homes built on the site, with ten three or four-bedroom houses and one two-bedroom property.

The Barrow office of Ross Estate Agencies, have said that the housing will provide great access to the town and will give new home owners excellent accommodation.

Mr David Sharpe, their Managing Director, said: "This is an excellent project, it is a nice development and is very accessible to the amenities in the town.

"We have had really positive responses so far and a lot of interest and it shows that the housing market is really improving."

"These will be very attractive to people in the area."

Building work on the houses is underway, and Mr Sharpe estimates that the houses will be completed by summer this year.
