FOOTBALLER Adam Johnson has been sacked by Sunderland after he pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.

The 28-year-old former England international pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday to one count of grooming and another of sexual activity with a child.

We've been asking our readers if Sunderland were right to sack Johnson. An overwhelming 96 per cent of readers believe the club did do the right thing.

Debbie Napier said: "All convicted sex offenders should not only lose their jobs they should also lose their liberty, permanently."

Dan Bell added: "Anybody convicted of child sex offences should be sacked! Especially if they are in a position where they could be a role model to children!"
