THE Evening Mail has contacted two major restaurant chains following a number of calls for new outlets in Barrow.
The prospect of a restaurant opening, or closing, in Barrow attracts a huge amount of attention from our readers and there are clearly a number of front-runners when it comes to the eateries you would like to see open up in the town.
Following the announcement that Frankie & Benny's is due to close its Barrow restaurant, calls have been made once more for a new chain to move into Barrow - with many calling for either a Nando's or a Burger King.

Our online poll, gauging readers' views on which they would pick if they had to choose between Nando's or Burger King, has so far attracted more than 2,000 votes. Nando's is just in the lead, with 54 per cent of the votes.
In response, the Evening Mail has approached both Burger King and Nando's, with some of our coverage and your comments, to ask if they would consider opening an restaurant in Barrow.
Nando's was the first to reply, and while the spicy chicken specialists refused to rule out opening in Barrow, the company said the area wasn't on its radar "at the moment".
@amyfentonNWEM @skaith Not an area on our radar at the moment, but never say never!
