FIRE crews and paramedics were called to a crash involving two cars.
The crash is understood to have happened just before at around 1.20pm today at the junction where Hindpool Road meets Cornwallis Street in Barrow town centre.
Two cars are understood to be involved - a blue Nissan Almera being driven by an elderly female motorist, and a gold Renault Modus, driven by a man.
The woman was freed from the Nissan, but is believed to have only sustained minor injuries.
The male driver was also assessed at the scene.
Both motorists have been taken to Furness General Hospital.
Anyone with information on the incident should contact the police on 101, and quote log number 111.
