PATCHY outbreaks of rain is predicted for Wednesday - unfortunately while the kids are enjoying the Easter holiday break.

Showers, cloudy skies, but some sunny spells, are predicted for Thursday to Saturday.

Here are a some events on which might help on rainy or sunny days.

Wednesday April 12

Easter Craft Workshops at the Dock Museum, Barrow

Local artist Ellie Chaney will help children make their own stamps and learn how to use them to print exciting Easter patterns. Session times are 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm, each lasting one hour. Tickets are £3 per child. The workshop is suitable for accompanied children of four years and older.

Thursday April 13

Animal Handling Workshops at the Dock Museum, Barrow

Wetheriggs Animal Sanctuary, who will be running our ever popular workshops. The workshops are suitable for all ages. Sessions are at 10.30am, 11.15am, 12.00pm, 1.00pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm and 3.15pm, each lasting half an hour.

Advanced booking is vital for places. Tickets cost £2 per person and children eight years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Magic of Storytelling at Brockhole, Windermere.

Storyteller Steve Wharton presents Cumbrian songs and stories for all the family. Sessions at 11am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. £5 children, £2 adults accompanying children. Book online or by calling the venue.

Friday April 14 to Wednesday April 19

Rapunzel at the Coronation Hall, in Ulverston

The first-ever Easter pantomime in Cumbria, telling the traditional tale with a local twist and some well-known faces.

Performances are Friday April 14 1.30pm, Saturday April 15 1.30pm and 6.30pm, Monday April 17 1.30pm

Tuesday April 18 1.30pm and 6.30pm and Wednesday April 19 1.30pm.

Tickets are £12 Adults / £11 Concessions / £10 Child. There is also a family ticket available for the Panto (two adults and two children) at £40.
