EGERTON COURT
TWO fire crews were called out after a drunk man burnt his Bratwurst sausages at a Barrow Island flat.
Firefighters from Barrow and Walney were called to Egerton Court at around 4.45pm on Monday to reports of smoke billowing out of a flat. On arrival, firefighters identified the flat, which was full of smoke, and smashed a rear bedroom window to gain access.
When firefighters got inside the flat, they discovered the resident, an intoxicated man, had fallen asleep and left some Bratwurst sausages cooking in the wrapper in a pan. Police also attended.
