DONATIONS for dancers at a Furness stage school hoping to perform at Disneyland Paris have already begun pouring in.

Youngsters from KS Musicals in Barrow have been invited to show off their dancing skills at the world-famous theme park in October next year.

But the school is hoping donations from local people and businesses can lower the cost for all involved.

So far, the school has raised £600 from Fraser Dewar Engineering Ltd, Samantha Walton Dance and Fitness and Oil State Industries.

The school's owner and singing teacher Katherine Parkinson, 33, is hoping to raise around £10,000 in total.

She said: "Naturally, the children are thrilled to bits to have been chosen.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the children and I think we are the first in the area to do this; and I'm really pleased to give them this chance.

"We want to raise around £10,000 because it would bring down the cost for all the children involved."

Mrs Parkinson estimates the trip will cost around £500 per person and hopes to take a group of around 30 students, aged 10 and over.
