A DISPUTE between a man and a former partner ended when he put his foot through her door, a court heard.

Wayne William Jefferson, 25, of Vulcan Road, Barrow, was accused of criminal damage following an incident on May 21 in Anson Street.

Mr Lee Dacre, prosecuting, said: "On May 21 he attended the home address of his former partner to retrieve his belongings. He tried to talk to her through the kitchen window of her property."

An argument broke out, which saw Jefferson kick the bottom panel of her door, causing it to fall out.

Mr Dacre told Furness Magistrates’ Court Jefferson, who has 11 previous convictions from 16 offences, accepts he became angry at the situation.

Jefferson, who was not represented in court, did not say anything in relation to his charge other than to plead guilty.

He was sentenced to pay a fine of £190, and to pay £20 in compensation for the broken door.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30, and costs of £85.
