AS autumn settles in over the UK weather forecasters turn their eye to stormy weather which will soon be coming our way.
The UK has already experienced its first wet and wild weather of the season. Heavy rain and wind have buffeted coastal regions over recent days, with the Met Office making several yellow weather warnings.
Meteorologists have said tonight's 70mph gusts of wind will become this year's first named storm - Storm Aileen.
Chief forecaster for the Met Office, Frank Saunders, said: "Storm Aileen is expected to bring strong winds of up to 75mph to a central segment of the UK and an amber weather warning has been issued.
"As well as the strong winds, there will be some heavy rain pushing eastwards overnight which could see accumulations of 30-40mm.
A regular as the storms which seemingly batter us for months on end, each year names are released to mark the worst weather that comes our way.
