DIGITAL monitors have been installed at train stations in Cumbria to give passengers live travel information.
The digital signage will provide real-time train running information as well as a live link to Northern Rail’s Twitter feed, the latest BBC News headlines, digital adverts and the local weather forecast.
Supplied in partnership with Saturn Communications, the information screens have overcome the traditional challenge of Cumbria’s rural setting by connecting to local 3G broadband which allows them to link directly into the latest live information.
Stations to benefit so far in Cumbria include Dalton, Corkickle, Wigton, Cark and St Bees. A monitor at Seascale is due to go live soon.
