A DALTON zoo is getting in the festive spirit by letting children feed the "Three Kings' camels" in a nod to the traditional nativity storyline.
South Lakes Safari Zoo is aiming to get youngsters in the Christmas spirit by giving them the chance to meet a host of live animals including reindeers and donkeys.
There will also be a winter wonderland and Santa's Grotto for children to enjoy in the run up to Christmas.
To encourage youngsters to get involved with the zoo's festivities, the normal entry fee is being waived. Until February 28 entry for children is free and adults can get in by purchasing a £6 events wristband, entitling them to take part in giraffe and lemur feeding, and a ride on the road train and steam train.
More than 1,000 animals currently roam the zoo, which stays open all year round.
