A DALTON man accused of exposing himself to shop staff is due to appear in crown court next month.

Jonathan Sanderson, 44, of Green Lane, pleaded not guilty to three counts of exposure when he appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Prosecutor John Appleby told the court that Sanderson had entered a shop in Barrow town centre on three separate occasions in May and June of this year.

Mr Appleby added that the alleged offences, which all happened at around lunch time, were not targeted at any particular individual.

Sanderson denied all the charges and will next appear at Preston Crown Court for a preliminary hearing at 10am on August 14.

The defendant was granted bail on the condition that he not enter the shop in question or attempt to contact any of the prosecution witnesses.
