RESIDENTS are being warned about a scam email which tries to gain access to people’s bank accounts.
Copeland Borough Council has issued a warning about an email circulating among residents claiming to be from the City of London Police.

Claiming to represent the Fraud Intelligence Unit and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, the email appears to be offering financial compensation to victims of fraud, providing the recipient replies disclosing their personal information.

Copeland Borough Council is urging people not to open any attachments or links and to contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 if you think you have been affected.
