MEMBERS of the public are being invited to meet the man now in charge of keeping communities in Cumbria safe.
The county’s recently-elected police and crime commissioner, Peter McCall, is holding a series of public surgeries across the county and is inviting people to come along and share their views.
The first will be held at Tesco in Hindpool Road, Barrow from 2pm until 4pm on Tuesday May 31. No appointment is needed.
Mr McCall said: “I am really keen to speak to as many people as possible across the county as this will help with the development of the Police and Crime Plan which ultimately sets what I will deliver as police and crime commissioner.
“Holding surgeries such as these is just one of the ways that I plan to interact with members of the public, and I urge people to take the opportunity to come along for a chat. I would also like community groups to make contact, as I really want to get out in the community to see for myself the issues and how policing can help.”
