MEMBERSHIP of a team working between Barrow Borough Council and FCC Environment has been branded a "poisoned chalice".
Set up to improve the communication between the two groups after a series of problems, the council's representatives on the board were decided at a meeting of the executive committee on September 6. Choosing the Conservative's representative, party leader Dave Roberts called the position a "poisoned chalice".
The board will consist of Cllrs Martin McLeavy, Ann Thomson, Kevin Hamilton and council leader Dave Pidduck. They will sit alongside FCC's contract manager, regional development manager, area manager and general manager for Cumbria.
