A COMMUNITY concert has raised funds to help a brave Barrow girl who has been battling cancer.

The Musical Mark's Community Choir raised £1,611 from ticket sales and donations at their recent Stevie Wonder Tribute concert, featuring local band Kikbak.

The choir said the amount has been donated to Aimee Robinson and her family to recognise the difficult journey that the family has endured during the past 18 months while Aimee has been fighting leukaemia.

Aimee is now recovering from complications following a stem cell transplant. She got back to St James CE Junior School to complete her primary school studies for the final weeks of term. Aimee will join Year Seven at Furness Academy in September.
