LIKE many small corners of the country, south Cumbria has changed a lot over the years.
Yet there remains some time-honoured traditions which can still be seen today.
The Millom and Broughton Show delighted crowds again this summer, just as it did with the bull parade in 1991.
While the shops may change, Ulverston's cobbled Market Street remains a timeless beauty in the heart of the town.
History has always been a key part of life in Ulverston, and in 1984 residents took to the water to celebrate the annual charter event.
There's always some event to allow people to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings, stretch their legs and get the blood pumping, with the Dalton half-marathon proving just that as residents raised money for a new swimming pool.
The area has also been visited by royalty over the years, including Prince Philip, who saw the Holker Hall trials in 1988.
