BARROW families had a ball at an exciting pop festival featuring a host of celebrity acts and personalities this bank holiday Sunday.

Atomic Kitten, A1 and Kevin Simm, the winner of The Voice UK, were among the star acts performing in Barrow today for the Ultimate Pop Festival.

Katie Price, aka Jordan, also took to the stage to sing her new single 'I Got U' in front of packed Craven Park crowd. The Ultimate Events music extravaganza was organised by husband and wife team, Denis and Beth Horan, who also performed in the show.

BRIT Award winners A1 had the crowd singing and dancing along with hits including, Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You .

A1's Christian Ingebrigtsen, who is producing a new solo album in his native Norway, told The Mail: "It was great fun, they are such a happy audience, everyone was singing and dancing along and weather has been really nice."

It was a first trip to Barrow for A1 and Christian was interested in the maritime heritage of the town. He said: "I was very impressed by the huge submarine building."

Atomic Kitten headlined the event and entertained the crowd with their best loved tracks, such the hit Whole Again .

Kerry Katona, of Atomic Kitten and a former Queen of the Jungle from I'm a Celebrity ...Get Me Out of Here , told The Mail: "It's a brilliant atmosphere, it's always good to do family orientated events.

Kerry and bandmate Natasha Hamilton said it is amazing amazing to have a new generation of fans with their nostalgic pop music.

Natasha said: "We have parents who of Atomic Kitten age then we are seeing their kids singing with them, it's a new wave of fans which is really cute.

"It's been a nice family weekend and the weather has been nice. We come up the Lakes all the time, it's a beautiful part of the world."

The crowd were impressed by the amazing vocal range of Kevin Simm when he sang Sia's Chandelier and they love it when he took it back to his Liberty X days when he sang Just a Little.

Kevin told The Mail: "It's been brilliant, I've really enjoyed it, it was nice to bring my kids along as well."

Sophie Finley, 35, Barrow, and he group of friends loved the event.

She said: "We are looking forward to A1 and Kevin Simm was great. It's good for Barrow, we don't get much.

"We are trying to relive the 90s, with A1 and Atomic Kitten."

Kreativ dancers of Barrow performed alongside Mystical Experience. Louis Campbell, of Kreativ Dance said: "The festival has been amazing. We have loved performing here and we have been looking forward to seeing the acts."

Also performing were MAD4IT Oasis Tribute, Broth4rs party band, The Ultimate 90's show, Jordan Gaffney, Patrick Kelly, plus UK's top tribute to Ed Sheeran and Little Mix.

Mr Horan thanked all those who came along to the festival. On The Mail Facebook page, he posted: "Thank you guys for your support it means so much after many months of planning. Hopefully we will do it again next year but need local business to get behind it and support what we want to do. Barrow deserves days like this. Thank you all again."</
