DOG-LOVERS are being urged to take part in an organised walk which aims to celebrate bulldog breeds.

The Barrow Bulldog walk is set to take place on Sunday April 2 and builds on the success of a previous event held at Barrow Park.

Organiser Kirsty Jepson hosted Barrow's first bulldog walk back in 2014, after attending similar events in other parts of the country.

Miss Jepson hopes to attract as many bulldogs and their owners as possible, but all breeds of dogs are welcome. Around 30 attended the first event.

The walk will involve a lap of the park. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and yellow ribbons can be provided for those with dogs who prefer to be given some space.

After the walk, a charity auction and cake sale will take place, raising money for Animal Refuge Furness.

Miss Jepson's 11-year-old daughter Milly is also set to take part in this year's Keswick to Barrow walk to raise money for the same charity. Milly's donation page is HERE .

Anyone who would like to take part in the walk is asked to meet at 1pm at the bandstand in Barrow Park on Sunday April 2. There is also a Barrow Bulldog group on Facebook HERE .
