A BARROW mother who has been to the ends of the earth for her beloved children has won the Evening Mail's Bouquet of the Week.

Friends of 26-year-old Sam Edwards, of Anson Street, Barrow, nominated her to receive the bouquet to try and show her just how much they admire her strength and bravery.

In autumn 2016, Sam's seven-year-old son Kodi McWilliam was involved in a road traffic collision which left him with severe injuries.

While juggling Kodi's frequent visits to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool with taking care of her two other children, Sam did not get much rest over the festive period.

Lynsey Baptie and Angela Morton-Buckingham both know Sam from Brisbane Park Infant School, where their children are in the same class as Kodi.

They decided that it was about time Sam had a treat for herself and would be a very deserving recipient of the Evening Mail’s bouquet.

Lynsey, 36, also from Barrow, said: "All of our children play together at school and after Kodi was hit by a car we have just noticed that Sam has been run ragged.

"She works so hard and does so much for her children, she is a wonderful mum.

"Having had so much on her plate over the last few months I don't know how she has kept going.

"Kodi has only just made it back to school now after Christmas and we wanted to show Sam just how much myself and Angela admire her.

"Myself and Angela just want to let Sam know that all her friends have been thinking of her and the family over the last few months and we are always here to support her."
