A WOMAN has been jailed after a South Cumbria crime-spree after she was found in possession of a Stanley knife and admitted stealing goods worth more than £1000 from a number of stores.
Denise Elizabeth Brill-Edwards, 40, appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Barrow on November 30 where she faced six different charges.
Brill-Edwards, of Pennine gardens, Barrow admitted stealing a fleece and jacket worth £348 from The Epicentre and a dress worth £55 from Fat Face on November 28 in Ambleside.
On the same date Brill-Edwards was also found to be in possession of two pairs pliers and a screwdriver in Ulverston and was found in the company of Stephen Thornley which breached a restraining order imposed by Preston Crown Court in March 2015.
The defendant also admitted stealing cosmetics from Debenhams in Portland Walk worth £391.50 on October 22.
Brill-Edwards was committed to prison for a total of 10 weeks and must pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £115.
