A WOMAN was found with a wrap of amphetamine which she was taking to cope with the anxiety of moving house, a court was told.
Nicola Baker, 32, of Longway, Barrow, pleaded guilty to one charge of possession of the class B drug at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday (03/05).
Baker was discovered with a snap bag containing a white substance when stopped by police on July 3. Tests later confirmed it was amphetamine, with a value of around £15.
Lee Dacre, prosecuting, said: "The defendant said she had been taking amphetamine for the past couple of days brought by the the anxiety and stress because of moving house."
Magistrates fined Baker £80 and ordered her to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
