A BARROW teenager is set to appear in court next week after being charged with dangerous driving following an alleged hit-and-run.

Police and paramedics were called to the junction of Rawlinson Street/Holker Street/Abbey Road on June 15 following a collision between a black Audi A3 and an orange Ford B-Max.

The male driver of the Audi is alleged to have run away from the scene. The female driver of the Ford managed to climb out of her overturned car unhurt.

Following the alleged incident, a 17-year-old male from Barrow, who cannot be named because of his age, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is due to appear at Furness Youth Court next Friday, July 8.

A second male from Barrow, who was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, was released without charge.
