A TEENAGER accused of planning a terrorist attack on a gay pride event in Barrow is due to appear at the Old Bailey this morning (21).

Ethan Stables, 19, of Egerton Court, Barrow, is accused of possessing documents useful to people preparing or committing acts of terrorism.

The charge relates to an alleged incident in June. Police received intelligence an attack would be carried out during a gay pride celebration at the New Empire pub, in Dalton Road, Barrow.

Stables appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 29, and then at the Old Bailey, in London, on July 20 where his case was adjourned to August 11.

During the August hearing a plea hearing date was arranged for today, and a trial was set for January 22, 2018.
