DIGNITARIES and former servicemen and women stopped and stood in silence in Barrow to remember the fallen in the Battle of Britain.
The annual parade saw members of the public gather at Barrow Town Hall and march to the cenotaph in Barrow park at 11.30am on Sunday.
The parade featured a contingent of veteran submariners, the Royal Air Force Association, the Barrow and Dalton mayors, cadets from the air force and army and six riders from the British Legion Riders Branch.
Rev Ed Northey conducted the service at the iconic location and everybody in attendance paused to remember the men, women and children who died in the conflict during the Second World War.
After the ceremony, dignitaries, members of the armed forces past and present and cadets marched to the Royal British Legion in Holker Street for refreshments.
