A MAN from Barrow has been locked up after he stole two bottles of perfume from Debenhams.

Craig Adams, of Salthouse Road, Barrow, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court today where he pleaded guilty to shoplifting.

On September 28, the 42-year-old stole two bottles of perfume worth a total of £116, from Debenhams in Portland Walk, Barrow. He sold the perfume for £60 in order to buy alcohol.

Defence solicitor Mr Trystan Roberts told the court his client had "admitted it and knows he has done wrong".

District judge Gerald Chalk jailed Adams for 14 days and ordered him to pay £116 in compensation.

Adams is also due to appear at Preston Crown Court on January 27 charged with offences relating to making indecent images of children.
