SCHOOLCHILDREN from Barrow got their thinking caps on as they pitched creative ideas to impress a Dragons' Den themed judging panel and bag £200 worth of equipment for their school.
Youngsters aged three to seven from South Walney Infant and Nursery School took to the floor last Tuesday to present songs, poems, videos and pictures in a bid to choose what the money should be spent on.
The options included an outdoor construction area, a Lego construction area and a small world play area.
Colleen Fagan, a Year Two teacher at the school, said: "It was great to see them work together on their presentations and then go on to present them in front of the panel. It's a little bit different to what they usually do in a school day but it gives them a say as to what they want to see in their classroom.
The pupils had to impress a tough judging panel made up the Friends of South Walney Infant and Nursery School - a group of parents who arrange coffee mornings and annual fairs to raise money for classroom resources.
Mrs Fagan added: "It's brilliant. We are so fortunate to have a strong group of parents who help us out throughout the year."
