Port operator Associated British Ports (ABP) has reported a dramatic fall in half-year losses along with a rise in revenue.
The company – which owns the Port of Barrow and the Port of Silloth – saw its pre-tax loss for the period to June 30 fall to £32.6m, down from £379m for the same period in 2016.
Revenues rose by more than £10m compared to last year, coming in at £268.8m compared to £358.7m.
In a statement published with its accounts, ABP said: "The group's five-year plan forecasts this strong performance to continue in the future."
ABP is looking for a new chief executive after James Cooper, who has held the position since 2013, announced that he plans to step down.
