WOMEN fighting against state pension inequality are to hold a public meeting tomorrow.
The Barrow and District branch of Woman Against State Pension Inequality will gather for their monthly meeting, held at 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall, in Hawcoat, Barrow, tomorrow.
The members of Waspi are fighting against changes to pensions that mean women will have to work longer to draw their pension.
Pension reforms carried out over the past 20 years and, more recently under the coalition government, mean that women born after 1954 will have to wait an extra three years to draw their pensions.
An estimated 4,000 women in the Furness area are affected by pension reform.
