A MAN has been remanded in custody after assaulting three people while already on bail for a previous offence.

Courtney David Moore of St Vincent Street, Barrow pleaded guilty to one count of common assault and two counts of assaulting a police officer at Furness Magistrates' on August 13.

The court room heard how paramedics were called out the previous night to attend to an unresponsive Moore in Lord Street, Barrow.

Paramedics said Moore smelt intoxicated.

As they tried to help Moore, he woke up in a panic and violently kicked his leg out, injuring a paramedic, the court heard.

After being taken to A&E at Furness General Hospital Moore then assaulted two police officers and spat at one in the face.

Mr Michael Graham, defending, told the court how Moore suffered from Autism, ADHD and Asperger syndrome as well as epilepsy and didn't mean to hurt the paramedic.

Presiding Magistrate Robert Swales said: "If you are released on bail you will commit more offences because you have a history of committing offences whilst on bail."

The case was adjourned and Moore will appear at Furness Magistrates' on Thursday 18 via video link where all offences will be dealt with.
