A DRUNK Barrow man has been ordered to "cut out" the alcohol after kicking down a door in a violent outburst.
Daniel Craig Sawyer, 27, of Penrith Place, Barrow, pleaded guilty to causing £300 worth of criminal damage after damaging a wooden door belonging to Acorn Property on August 27, 2016.
Mr Lee Dacre, prosecuting, told Furness Magistrates' Court that at 4:05am, Sawyer kicked down a wooden door to gain entry to a shared flat in Schooner Street after a friend would not let him in due to him being too intoxicated.
Mr Andrew Gallagher, defending, said that his client realises the error of his ways and shouldn't have broken down the door to gain access to the flat.
District Judge Mr Gerald Chalk emphasised that Sawyer does "stupid things" when he is drunk as he encouraged him to "cut out" his drinking.
The defendant was fined £35 and made to pay compensation to the landlord. He must also pay court costs of £85.
