A MAN was fined for obstructing a police officer who was looking for a suspect.
Kyle James Newby was fined £80 for obstructing PC Natalie Jukes.
Newby, 20, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court heard PC Jukes attended an address in Barrow on August 31 and Newby blocked the entrance with his body, telling her she needed a warrant. But the police had Section 17 search powers for tracing a suspect.
Ms Karen Templeton, defending Newby, said he believed a search warrant was needed and he regretted not letting the police in.
Newby, of Anchor Road, also has to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
