A MAN is due to appear in court accused of attempting to cause fear with a firearm and threatening to commit arson.
Police and armed officers raided a house in School Street at teatime on Saturday following an allegation of a firearms incident in town and after a man was arrested.
Peter Cunliffe, of School Street in Barrow, was quizzed by detectives at Barrow CID and has now been charged.
The 47-year-old has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, threatening to commit arson and possession of a bladed article.
Cunliffe is due to appear at Furness Magistrates' Court on Friday.
