A BARROW man caught with a firearm despite being banned has been jailed for six months.
Stephen Allan Brown, 34, of Sowerby Avenue, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court today after pleading guilty to the charge last month.
Police found a .22 BB handgun air weapon when they searched his house on April 18.
Brown had been banned from possessing a firearm following a three-year prison sentence in 2005 for supplying drugs.
He was also given a seven-day concurrent custodial sentence for non-payment of a £465 fine imposed on May 25, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
