A MAN from Barrow was arrested after an alleged train obstruction led to rail services being cancelled for two hours.
Northern Rail and British Transport Police's Lancashire and Cumbria team reported yesterday afternoon that an obstruction on the line near to Furness Abbey in Barrow had caused a number of services across the region to be delayed and cancelled.
The incident was reported to police at around 2.50pm.
Services between Lancaster and Barrow were disrupted for two hours and the line reopened at around 4.45pm.
A 24-year-old man from Barrow was arrested by officers from BTP's Manchester team on suspicion of causing an obstruction on the railway line. He has since been bailed until a date in January.
We assisted @BTPLancs by attending #BarrowInFurness custody to deal with a male who'd caused an obstruction to the lines earlier in the day
