A 22-YEAR-OLD painter appeared in court and admitted attacking his partner following an argument.

Ryan Anthony Barker, of Ramsden Dock Road, Barrow, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Furness Magistrates' Court on July 26.

The court heard how Barker "lost his patience" following a verbal disagreement and pushed his partner in the face before spitting at her.

Michael Graham, defending, said that his client accepted he was "in the wrong".

Barker was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and must pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £85.
