A BARROW man is due in court accused of causing a crash which left his female passenger seriously injured and closed a main road for four hours.
Police were called to Mill Brow in Abbey Road, between Barrow and Dalton, on the afternoon of July 15 of last year after a one-vehicle collision.
A maroon Ford Fiesta had collided with a tree after leaving the road.
The two occupants, a man and a woman, were both serious injured and taken to the Royal Preston Hospital. The woman, who was a passenger, had to be airlifted.
Paul Ashley Turner, of Broad Close, Barrow, has since been charged with driving without due care and attention, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
The 30-year-old is due to appear before Furness Magistrates' Court this morning.
